Bella is a brown tabby Maine Coon, the gentle giant of the cat world, with lynx-tipped ears, a lion's ruff, and a plume of a tail she carries like a banner, and bright green eyes that miss nothing. She turns sixteen this November, and her muzzle has gone a little silver from years on the road.
With her straw hat, patched vest and trusty lantern, Bella knows exactly what makes a pet's tail wag. Over her journey she has wandered across this vast land of ours, and across this vast earth, and met so many characters along the way.
The picture above is her group photo of the friends she's made on the road: Timothy the raccoon, Peanut the squirrel riding on her backpack, Harambe the gorilla, a cheerful Shiba Inu, the capybara in his red bandana, and the little green frog who rides on his back. A puppy, a bunny, a hedgehog and a duckling tag along too.
Bella is actually more traveled than most Canadians.
She has visited every province except PEI and has crossed the country twice. The Northwest Territories are still on her list.
